Workshop update

Hello all,

So, firstly, Mondays are cancelled until November, expect an update soon. Secondly, a few updates regarding the workshops; the cost of a single day is £15 or the whole week for £55, however Sunday is £25 as you get a t-shirt as a memory of the workshop. If you are part of the audience on Sunday the entry fee is £5, however, if you are to take part in the roda then it's £25. Now, regarding payments, cheques are a strict no-no. We either take cash or direct payment to the bank account.

A final note, there are actually entry requirements for workshop, if you haven't played Capoeira for very long and haven't trained with us for a while, it's probably a no. All beginners must be approved by Paul. In short, to attend you should know the basics of Capoeria and the rules of playing in a roda, this includes the music side.

Workshop details

We have our first event on November 11^th and are very excited to be having the head of our association, Master Sombra, with us for the week!

You are invited to attend and support this event.

As you know, I do not charge for teaching classes and the money ALL goes towards space hire and creating a fund to support special events like this one.

However, to bring three people from Brasil and others from Europe, hire workshop space and print shirt’s is quite a financial commitment and we need your support to pull this off.

As the Masters have travelled thousands of miles to support the group it is appreciated that we support the Masters with our attendance during this week.

It is also a very important aspect of our development in Capoeira.

We have priced this as fairly as possible.

Mestre Sombra - Urgent

Hello all,

So, Paul would like to book us a visit for Mestre Sombra. Now, there is no point booking this if you lovely people aren't around. We only have two possible spots in which this is possible - mid August or first week in September. Please let me know if you can make either date. Capoeira this week

Tomorrow's class won't be at the squash court. Hurray, warm conditions again. But still bring a jumper just in case. 


So, here are the times and locations:

• Mondays (Moves): 19h-21h
• The School of Pythagoras building (1st floor) inside St John's College - CB2 1TP. Orientative postcode, there are many entrances.
• Wednesdays (Moves + Roda): 18h30-20h30 
• Romsey Mill Centre. Entrance by Hemmingford rd (corner just off Mill Rd).

capoeira today is at the squash court - beware, it's cold!

Hi Manguiros and mandingueiras,

Today the class will be in the squash court from 7 to 9 (see below for
exact location). Beware it is a cold place, so make sure you bring
some extra clothes to keep warm!

How to get to the squash court: you need to go to the end of the
Cranmer Road and go through the left of the gate that's at the end.
The pedestrian passage is always open and it's closed for cars (plenty
of parking space before you reach the gate). Follow the path for
something like 30 m and you'll see sports grounds and two small
buildings on either side. We're interested in the one on the right -
door will be open.

Capoeira for 2012

Hello all,

So, I'd just like to announce that we will be starting again on Wednesday the 11th of January 2012(Romsey mill hall). Also, please join the dance offensive mailing list(http://www.danceoffensive.com/Mailing-List) as all class times are shown there, in advance too! :)
